Crack Cocaine, Cash Seized in Downtown Binghamton Raid

Police confiscated crack cocaine and hundreds of dollars in suspected drug sale proceeds when they searched a residence in downtown Binghamton.

Authorities say a parolee faces four felony counts after a search warrant was executed Monday at 11 1/2 Varick Street.

Investigators say 24-year-old Christopher Frederick was arrested following the operation by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force.

Police say 20 grams of crack cocaine, 1.5 ounces of powder cocaine and drug packaging materials were found during the search. They say they also seized $400 in cash.

Frederick was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Frederick was said to be under state parole supervision. Officials say a parole violation warrant was issued.

Frederick was being held at Binghamton police headquarters pending his arraignment in city court.
