Cortland County Sheriff’s Office police dog is better protected against the bad guys.

K9 Frenky has gotten a bullet and stab protective vest from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.  The vest is embroidered with “In memory of K9 Rocco, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.”

The vests cost up to $2,234 and are paid for through donations.

The national organization provides protective vests for actively deployed dogs in the U.S. with law enforcement of related agencies who are certified, at least 20 months of age, new K9 graduates and K9s with expired vests.

Donations can be made at www.vik9s.org or mailed to P.O. Box 9 East Taunton, MA 02718.
