Community Invited To Celebration Of Life For Slain Binghamton Girl
On April 21, 2022, 12-year-old Aliza Spencer was out for a walk with her father and brother just before 10:00 p.m. near her home at the corners of Bigelow and Chamberlain Streets in Binghamton when she was shot.
Police quickly responded to calls of shots fired and Aliza Spencer was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, she passed away shortly after arrival from a single gunshot wound to her chest fired by an unknown gunman.
Now, four weeks later, there are just as many questions regarding the murder of the sixth-grader who was on the high honor at Binghamton's East Middle School. The Binghamton Police Department reports that continues to hunt down her killer and has enlisted the help of the New York State Police to hunt down answers as to who snuffed out the bright light of a little girl.
To mark the one-month anniversary of the passing of Aliza Spencer, her family and friends are inviting the community to pay tribute to her life. They are asking our community to help them celebrate the life Aliza lived and remember her for the beautiful young girl she was.
The celebration of life for Aliza Spencer will take place on the front lawn of Calvin Cooledge Elementary at 261 Robinson Street in Binghamton on Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to wear purple and to bring purple balloons and candles.
Anyone with any information on the murder of Aliza Spencer is asked to call the Binghamton Police Department at 607-772-7080 and leave an anonymous tip.
