Binghamton Restaurant Week continues through next Thursday.  Over 30 Binghamton Restaurants are taking part with special lunch and dinner offers.  Earlier this week I visited Citrea Restaurant and Bar, 7 Court Street, Suite #3 in Binghamton for lunch.

Located near the Chenango River Citrea is a delightful place to dine.  One of the nice things about Binghamton Restaurant Week is that people get the opportunity to visit places they may have not been to before.  That was the case for me.

I started off by sampling two of their appetizers or first course choices.  I enjoyed Grape Salad with fresh and pickled grapes, spinach, goat cheese, walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette.  The goat cheese was wonderful and was so fresh it melted in your mouth.

For the second course I ordered their Personally Sized Salciccia Pizza.  Their pizzas are woodfire baked.  Their Salciccia Pizza features tomato sauce, sausage, pepperoni and mozzarella. It was made to perfection and delicious.

For the third course or dessert portion of their Restaurant Week special I sampled two fabulous treats.  First, Zeppole, which is fried pizza dough, cinnamon sugar and covered with Nutella hazelnut spread...a wonderful dessert.  They also let me try their Pumpkin Panna Cotta.  Made especially for the Halloween and Autumn season this is a great way to top off a superb dining experience.  It features pumpkin, walnuts and maple syrup.

The service and atmosphere could not have been more welcoming.  It is a definite on the "must return" list.  It would be a special treat to visit with a friend or partner to relax and talk in a welcoming environment. Citrea, a delicious part of Binghamton Restaurant Week.
