Students in the Chenango Forks School District were dismissed early Friday morning following a break-in at the high school.

Authorities say an intruder had entered the school overnight. The burglar could be seen on security video carrying a bag and going from one classroom to another.

Chenango Forks School Superintendent Joe Peck said no one else was in the building at the time of the break-in.

Peck said administrators ordered an evacuation as a precaution. Police were called to search campus buildings.

The superintendent said all safety procedures were followed.

Outside activities at the Chenango Forks school campus for the weekend were canceled.
