UPDATE — On September 27 at 8:32 a.m., the missing child alert for 13-year-old Charlotte Heier was canceled as she was found safe.

ORIGINAL STORY— Authorities are desperately trying to find a 13-year-old girl from Smithville, New York, Chenango County who is missing and who they believe may be suicidal.

Charlotte Heier was last seen on North Tyner Road in the town of Smithville at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 and authorities believe that she might be traveling in the area on foot and may still be in the local area.

Charlotte was last seen wearing a brown Hershey Park hoodie type sweatshirts and NASA pajama bottoms. Charlotte's hair is colored blue and cut in a mohawk style. Born on July 18, 2008, Charlotte stands five feet, one inch and weighs 115 pounds. Charlotte is white and has green eyes.

At the request of the Chenango County Sheriffs Office, a New York State Missing Child Alert was issued by NYS-DCJS-MPC at 3:44 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021.

Authorities believe that Charlotte may be suicidal and that she is in need of medical attention. Anyone who has any information on the whereabouts of Charlotte Heier is asked to immediately call the Chenango County Sheriff's Office at 607-334-2000 or call 911.
