Charges Filed in Fatal Colesville Crash

A Harpursville man is charged with vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving in a crash on Interstate 88 in the Town of Colesville that left a man dead and his wife injured.

New York State Police say 23 year old David Murrer, Jr. was driving east at 10:53 p.m. December 29 when he hit a second eastbound vehicle driven by 64 year old Synthia Baciuska of Afton.  Her husband, 67 year old Lynn Baciuska was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Murrer sustained cuts to his face and refused treatment.

Murrer was sent to the Broome County Jail on $2,500 bail.
