Another national chain is about to file for bankruptcy. This time, it's a food chain with locations across the United States.

This restaurant chain has a location in the Triple Cities area. According to Yahoo! Finance, TGI Friday's is planning to file for bankruptcy protection soon, stating that according to people with knowledge of the plans, the chain has been struggling to turn around the business due to tight budgets and a better preference for faster food.

The Townsquare Media website, Taste of County adds that over a dozen TGI Friday  locations have been shuttered in October, including six this week.

Customers have noticed closure notices on the doors of the closed locations. Locally, Newschannel 34 reported on the status of the TGI Fridays located in the Townsquare Mall, Vestal, and found that it too has closed abruptly.

WNBF's Bob Joseph investigated on Friday (October 25) as to the status of the Vestal location, and found a note on the door of the restaurant indicating that the restaurant has indeed closed, stating the following:

The only thing known about the most recent closures is that there was a note similar to the one above, posted on the doors of all six establishments.

Other restaurant locations that have closed according to Taste of Country, include in New York State - Poughkeepsie, and Clifton Park, and in Pennsylvania - Allentown.

Other TGI Friday's locations that have closed include restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina, Grand Chute, Wisconsin, Saginaw Township, Michigan, and Schererville, Indiana, along with locations in Minnesota, Connecticut, and Virginia.
