Car Vs. Bus Crash Snarls Traffic on Route 17 in the Town of Dickinson
No injuries are reported in a crash involving a sedan and a school bus that turned State Route 17 into a virtual parking lot in the Town of Dickinson during the afternoon commute December 6.
New York State Police, medical and fire crews were called to Route 17 eastbound between Johnson City and Binghamton shortly after 4 p.m. and traffic backed up for miles. Heavy traffic was reported on Main Street, Prospect Street and other routes as motorists tried to avoid the tie-up on the highway that lasted for a couple hours.

The Union Endicott School District informed parents of the crash and said there had been a couple students on the bus along with the driver and a monitor. No one was transported for injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
