Candor Crash Victim’s Name Released by Tioga Sheriff’s Office

Tioga County Sheriff’s officials are now releasing the name of the man who died in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 96 and Catatonk Hill Road in Candor following a 7:42 p.m. crash May 8.

89 year old Richard Nabor died at the scene while the driver of the car he was in and the driver of the other car and a passenger were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The investigation is continuing.

The crash closed Route 96 in the area for several hours while the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Union worked at the scene.

Fire and Emergency Medical Services crews from Candor and Campville assisted at the scene along with the Guthrie Air-Med helicopter, Owego Emergency Medical Services, Owego Fire Police, Weltonville Fire Department, Tioga County emergency Services and the New York State Department of Transportation.
