Stenger said in his message, when we hired Pat, he was charged with guiding Binghamton Athletics into the school’s second decade of NCAA Division I membership, while ensuring our coaches and student-athletes have the resources they need to be successful, not just as athletes but, more importantly, as students and citizens of the University community.

While holding the position of Director of Athletics, there were eight conference championship team, 14 individual All Americans, along with 42 qualifiers

Elliott oversaw the additions and renovations of the tennis complex, baseball and softball stadiums, and was a huge supporter of fundraising, which increased 500 percent during his time as Director of Athletics.

The message quoted Pat as saying in his very first press conference when accepting the position, “We’re going to stand for integrity, on and off the court.”

While Binghamton University is sad to see Patrick Elliott leave the position, he will still have a part time role as mentor to seniors in professional development, as a special advisor to the President.

Dennis Kalina will serve as interim Director of Athletics when Elliott steps down on June 30, 2021, as the University begins its search for a new Athletics Director.
