Specific programs should be targeted in the areas of school-based positive youth development, after school community-based positive youth development, juvenile diversion, mentoring, homeless youth programs, sports and runaway programs.

Municipalities can apply one funding request for all the programming they are offering to young people.

The Youth Bureau says programs that are identified addressing specific need areas will be awarded additional points during the process of the review.
