The County recently held a hearing on its disaster recovery plan that looks at things that worked, things that could have been done better and what should be done to prepare for a possible second wave of the pandemic.

The report ticks off a list of issues concerning providing daycare to essential workers, protecting vulnerable populations like the elderly and the homeless, stockpiling supplies in health care and other facilities, economic repercussions and coordinating information.

County Planning officials are continuing to work on the project as the information concerning COVID-19 is continuing to change and evolve more than 100 days after the start of the outbreak in March.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health officials around the world are still not sure about the chances of a second wave, a mutation of the virus or the timing of a possible new assault of disease.
