Broome Pistol Permit Office Adjusts Hours

Pistol permit applications continue to pour into the Broome County Sheriff's Office and that's prompted a change in business hours.

Starting next week, the pistol permit and ID office in the town of Dickinson will be open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The office will continue to open at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday but it will close for business at 2:00 p.m. on those days.

The Broome County office has been experiencing "heavy volume" of pistol permit applications in recent months.

People who want to apply for a permit must be a county resident and must be at least 21 years old.
