The Broome County Legislature is moving ahead with a revised 2017 budget plan that restores an even split of the sales tax revenues between the county and the municipalities.

The budget proposed by County Executive Debra Preston had called for the county to keep 51.5% of the revenue with the municipalities getting 48.5%.

Lawmakers have also reduced the amount of the proposed tax levy increase from .77% to .63%, taking money from what some said was unnecessary funding for Willow Point Nursing Home.

The changes were approved 11-3.

Residents can review the amendments at the county website.
