Broome Drug Overdoses Rise in February
The Broome County Health Department is reporting an increase in the number drug overdoses in the month of February.
The Broome Opioid Awareness Council is encouraging those with substance use disorder not to use alone, have a Narcan reversal kit on hand and don’t hesitate to call 911 in an emergency. Support is available 24-hours a day by calling 211.
The news release concerning the increase did not provide any numbers indicating just how big of a jump in the overdose numbers had been recorded.
The Health Department is offering virtual Narcan trainings throughout the county by programs like Truth Pharm, the Addiction Center of Broome County, Southern Tier AIDS Program and Helio Health.

Residents interested in training can call, text or contact individual organizations through Facebook for information.
