Efforts to control the spread of COVID-19 has resulted in the Broome County Real Property Tax Office no longer offering off-site collections, effective September 1, 2020.

According to a press release from the Broome County Real Property Tax Office, school tax bills are expected to be in the mail by Friday August 28, and Monday August 31.

Effective September 1, 2020, the Broome County Real Property Tax Office will no longer offer off site collections at the Town of Binghamton Town Hall, or use the Town of Binghamton’s drop box for tax payments.

The press release says, that If payments are dropped into our outside drop box, your payment will be returned to you.

In order to centralize and accommodate all the towns and school districts, collection will be for current taxes, school tax payments in September & October, and property tax payments January through March.

The following two off site locations will be available.

The Oakdale Mall, backside of the former Sears building, where the layaway department and the bathrooms were located, Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm

The Broome County Office Building at 60 Hawley Street, 2nd Floor Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
