The Land Bank and the City of Binghamton partnership called for the renovation of 10-12 single-and two-family homes by the end of 2026. 170 Moeller Street was acquired in August 2023.

The Broome County Land Bank is extremely proud to announce the completion of 170 Moeller Street today, here in Binghamton. Our fourth renovation project this year, and the sixth overall, is really amazing. We can’t thank the City of Binghamton, Broome County, and New York State Homes and Community Renewal enough for their assistance with this and all of our projects to date. This home will provide another family in our community with the ability to achieve homeownership. All the while, we’re continuing to address blight in Broome County and improve neighborhoods. - Jessica Haas, Executive Director of the Broome County Land Bank Corporation

According to the announcement, over $160 million was allocated to support the services and expenses of 31 Land Banks throughout New York State, resulting in returning close to 300 housing units to occupancy through rehabilitation and development, 180 properties for reuse through stabilization interventions, demolishing 180 blighted properties, and investing in predevelopment studies to prepare nearly 300 properties for redevelopment.

Through strong partnerships, the Broome County Land Bank continues to turn vacant properties into quality homes that not only strengthen our neighborhoods but also give local families a place to call home. Thank you to the City of Binghamton and New York State Homes and Community Renewal for their continued support, and to the Land Bank for their ongoing efforts to create affordable homeownership opportunities and revitalize our community. - Broome County Executive Jason Garnar
