The Broome County Board of Elections office will be open this weekend for voters to obtain absentee ballots for next week's election.

Deputy election commissioner Karen Davis said the downtown Binghamton office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Absentee ballots also will be available during the office's regular hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Monday.

Election workers began delivering voting machines to Broome County polling places on Thursday.

Davis said there will be 114 polling places for 141 county districts for the general election. Polls will be open on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Polling places have been moved for 15 districts in the county since last November.
