Broome and Tioga Counties both are reporting an additional death attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials say a woman in her 60s in Broome County died on November 8, bringing the death toll to 106. Broome also added 28 cases from Sunday for a total of 3,883 cases since the start of the pandemic. There have been 103 new cases in Broome County since November 6.

Tioga County’s death toll now stands at 42.  There were 32 new cases reported from November 7 for a total of 856.

Elsewhere around the Southern Tier, Chenango County had 17 new cases from November 8 and reported a total reported November 9 of 460 and 9 deaths. Cortland County had 10 new cases for a total of 965 and one fatality while Delaware County reported nine new cases for a total of 241 and the death toll remains at 9.

New York State had 3,144 new cases for a total of 536,928.  26 more New Yorkers died to bring the pandemic death toll to 25,973.
