Premium Audio Amplified: Bose Corporation Acquires The McIntosh Group
The greater Binghamton area is famous worldwide for quite a few things, both present and from the past. IBM, Singer-Link, Endicott-Johnson, Eureka, and Dick's Sporting Goods to name a few.
Another company famous around the globe is McIntosh, the maker of some of the best, if not the best amplifiers, speakers, turntables, and other audio products on the planet. The company is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

On November 19th, the Bose Corporation, another audio company that makes superior audio products, announced in a website press release that it had acquired the McIntosh Group which includes McIntosh Laboratory and Sonus faber. Bose purchased McIntosh from Highlander Partners, L.P., which is a private investment firm in Dallas, Texas.
McIntosh is located on Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Sonus faber is a luxury designer and Italian manufacturer of handcrafted speakers, and other high-end audio equipment, based in Vicenza, Italy, according to the Bose press release.

With the purchase of McIntosh and Sonus faber, Bose notes that the company will continue to excel with its popular products, including headphones, speakers, soundbars, and car audio, among other projects, and McIntosh and Sonus faber will maintain its focus on amplifiers, loudspeakers, turntables, and other high-end products.
