More streets are being added to Binghamton's boil water notice following a water main break in the Ely Park service area over the weekend.

Glenwood Road and Sowden Street are being added to the area that was initially outlined has being bounded by Prospect Street to the south, Front Street to the east, the City Line to the west and the Legacy Bay Apartments to the North.

The boil order is not expected to be lifted before the end of the week.

The Water Department needs two clear tests of the water over two days after the Ely Park reservoir is fully filled.

Residents have been told not to drink water without boiling first for one minute.  Boiled or bottled water should be used also for making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.

Questions can be directed to the City of Binghamton Water Department at 772-7210 or the Broome County Health Department at 778-2887.
