Binghamton Wreck to Impact Traffic Monday & Tuesday
The wreck of a tractor trailer on Interstate 81 North/ State Route 17 West in Binghamton at 11:20 a.m. Friday, April 29 is still going to have an impact on traffic into Monday and Tuesday, May 2 & 3.
The New York State Department of Transportation says debris clean-up is planned for Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The right lane of Route 17 West between the interchange and Exit 72 (Prospect Street) will be closed. The left lane of I-81 south to Route 17 West between the interchange and exit 72 will be closed.
Motorists are advised to be alert for slow moving traffic and sudden stops.
The truck with a Ben Weitsman and Son trailer wound up on its side next to a concrete barrier on a bridge over the Chenango River Friday, spilling debris in the median. There were no injuries.
