Binghamton University to Add Arts School
Binghamton University has big plans beyond dealing with a global pandemic.
University President Doctor Harvey Stenger February 1 delivered his annual State of the University address that touched on the University response to the COVID-19 pandemic that started in the spring of 2020 and continues to evolve. Doctor Stenger is optimistic that the end of restrictions is near and praised the university response that has kept infection numbers both on and off campus low.
For the future, Doctor Stenger announced plans for a School of the Arts with five departments: art history, cinema, art design, theater and music.
Stenger says a design planning firm is working on the project that had been “waiting in the wings” for several years.
The university president says the Arts school is projected to be a ten year plan starting in 2022.
