[Bob Joseph/WNBF News][/caption]Binghamton University has Precandidate status to enroll students for its Doctor of Pharmacy program.

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education will welcome the inaugural class this August.  The program will still be evaluated until June 30, 2018.

Precandidate status indicates the standards and guidelines required for licensing of graduates set by the Accreditation Council have been met.

An evaluation team visited the site in October, met with stakeholders and toured the Health Sciences and Technology Innovation Park in Johnson City where the Pharmacy School is to be located.

The building, currently under construction, is expected to be ready for occupancy in the fall of 2018.
