Attempted Murder: Binghamton Teen Charged in West Side Shooting
A Binghamton youth has been arrested after a man was shot in the head while riding in a car on the city's West Side.
Authorities said the 17-year-old boy was charged with second-degree attempted murder in connection with the shooting that occurred around 7:10 p.m. Sunday. The incident happened near 34 Schubert Street.
The suspect, who was arrested on Tuesday, also faces charges of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. According to a police department news release, he will be arraigned in Youth Part Court.
Detectives questioned several people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.
Police said the man who was wounded sustained a minor injury to the side of his head caused by the gunfire. He was treated at a hospital and released.
