Binghamton Mets Send Four to All-Star Game
The Binghamton Mets will be well represented at the Eastern League All-Star Game in Altoona on Wednesday, July 16 at 7:00 PM. The Eastern and Western Divisions will square off at Peoples Natural Gas Field, the home of the Altoona Curve.
Named to the All-Star squad are:
Infielder Brian Burgamy
Outfielder Kyle Johnson
Pitcher Cody Satterwhite and
Pitcher Jon Velasquez
The All-Stars will compete in the Ghostman Games and Hitting Challenge on Tuesday, July 15. Johnson is hitting .288 with four home runs in 65 games. Burgamy has hit 14 home runs and driven in 51 runs in 71 games. He played independent league baseball for the past five seasons before signing with New York. Satterwhite has been one of the Eastern League's top relief pitchers. He has made 30 appearances this season and compiled a 1.60 ERA. Velasquez has also been solid out of the bullpen with and ERA of 3.05.
