The Binghamton Mets face Mike Augliera and the Portland Sea Dogs tonight at Hadlock Field.   Binghamton is trying to salvage the final game of the three- game series after dropping last night's game 4-3 and Monday night's contest 6-4.  With the two defeats the B-Mets are now 5.5 games behind the Sea Dogs in the battle for first place in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League.

Augliera is in his first season at the Double-A level and is 4-8 with a 5.35 ERA.  He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2012 draft out of Binghamton University.  He makes his third start against the B-Mets.  In two previous starts at NYSEG Stadium Augliera went 0-2.

The B-Mets send Stony Brook native Steve Matz to the mound.  He makes his sixth start of the season and is 3-1 with an ERA of 2.79.

Portland has won the past seven games against Binghamton at Hadlock Field.  The B-Mets have lost four of their last five outings overall...the first time that has happened to the B-Mets since early June.  Following tonight's game the B-Mets head to Trenton to face the Thunder in a four-game series beginning tomorrow night.
