Binghamton Man Indicted for Murder in Conklin Shooting

A Binghamton man has been indicted on seven-charges in connection with the fatal shooting of one woman and the wounding of another in Conklin.

45-year-old Lance Johnson was taken into custody by a Binghamton police officer after the August 7 attack at an apartment house at 1205 Conklin Road.

38-year-old Alison Salisbury of Binghamton was pronounced dead at the scene. 42-year-old Shannon Brooks of Conklin was treated at a hospital for a hand wound.

Johnson was indicted Friday by a Broome County grand jury on felony charges of murder, attempted murder and criminal use of a firearm, along with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He also was indicted for tampering with physical evidence and stalking.

According to the Broome County district attorney's office, Johnson had been stalking Brooks during July and August. He allegedly used a semi-automatic handgun to shooting the women.
