U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say the funding for Triple Cities Makerspace in Binghamton will help train students using a new mobile lab in skills needed by local manufacturers.

The lab will also be available for schools and libraries to train teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math instructional skills.

The facility also provides resources for metal working, wood shop, laser cutting and 3D printing.

The funding comes through the Appalachian Regional Commission.
