Several buildings on Binghamton's West Side were vandalized by someone who spray-painted graffiti along a section of Main Street.

The graffiti spree between Oak and Clarke streets occurred sometime over the weekend.

At least five buildings were defaced with black or purple paint. It was not known whether the vandalism was the work of one or more people.

A couple of vacant retail buildings owned by Kradjian Properties were among those targeted.

Kradjian Properties workers were observed painting over graffiti on a building at 68 Main Street where a CVS Pharmacy store had operated until January 2019.

A Kradjian building at 140 Main Street - where the Audioman store had been located - also was defaced.

A Family Dollar store at 56 Main Street, Penn York Medical Supplies at 69 Main Street and Kennedy Fried Chicken at 159 Main Street also were tagged in the vandalism spree.

Isolated graffiti incidents have been reported around Binghamton in recent weeks but the weekend vandalism appeared to be the first significant case this spring in which multiple businesses were targeted.

No arrests have been reported by Binghamton police in the weekend incidents.
