Binghamton Looks to Sell Water
The City of Binghamton is apparently following up on a plan to utilize the area's water supply for a new economic venture.
According to documents obtained by the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, Onondaga County-based TL Brown Management Group has prepared a report to attract a water-intensive business to the City. That could range from a semi-conductor producer to a water bottling company.
Mayor Richard David earlier this year said the City would be looking into selling its abundance of water to municipalities suffering from drought to to a bottled water company.
Water could also be used to cool systems in semi-conductor production plants.
The paper says the report has found over a dozen companies the City could reach out to.
Project bids are expected to be opened December 20,
