The City of Binghamton has a new leader for the Parks and Recreation Department.  Carol Quinlivan is replacing William Barber as Commissioner.

Barber has led the department since 2013 and in March won the Central New York Recreation and Parks Society David Guokas Award for Excellence.  The award recognizes a professional who has made a significant contribution to the leisure field.

Quinlivan had served as a Recreation Supervisor from 2005 to 2010 and has been Assistant Director of Recreation since 2010.

Patrick McGinnis is the new Assistant Director of Recreation, replacing Quinlivan.  McGinnis has served in various capacities in the Parks Department, including as Recreation Supervisor since 2015.
