The Binghamton Bear\cats fell behind by 13 points at the half and newer could recover to take the lead in the second half as they dropped a 67-64 contest to the Maine Black Bears in Bangor, Maine at the Cross Insurance Center.

Binghamton started out taking the lead through the first seven minutes of play but the Black Bears were able to erase the Binghamton advantage to move to a 37-24 half-time lead.  The Bearcats outscored Maine 40-30 in the second 20 minutes falling just short.

Willie Rodriguez keyed a late second half rally by BU.  He scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half.  Marlon Beck also was big in Binghamton's comeback efforts hitting for 17 points and 13 in the second half .Romello Walker also hit for double figures for Binghamton.  Walker scored 12 points in 35 minutes of action.

Forward Bobby Ahearn got into early foul trouble and played just 22 minutes before before fouling out late in the game.  He finished with six points and five rebounds.  Binghamton starter Justin McFadden was limited to six minutes.  He came off the bench in the first half but saw limited duty. Coach Tommy Dempsey said McFadden was ill.

The win gives Maine a split in the season series and evens the overall record between the two teams at 15-15.  Binghamton returns home to face the undefeated Albany Great Danes Tuesday at 7 PM.
