The Binghamton Bearcats came within one inning of upsetting 19th ranked Nebraska today in the NCAA Regional Baseball Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Binghamton held a 6-5 lead going into the ninth inning but Nebraska scored thee runs to secure an 8-6 victory.

Greg Ostner started on the mound for BU and pitched 8.1 innings.  BU had the chance to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth but Nebraska was able to hold on and secure the win.

Senior center fielder Bill Bereszniewicz paced the Bearcats offense with a 3-5 showing at the plate.  Jake Thomas, Binghamton's top RBI producer sat out the game due to injury.

Yesterday, Binghamton dropped an 8-0 decision to seventh - ranked Oklahoma State in the opening round of the regional tournament.  With the loss the Bearcats end their season with a record of 25-27.  They won the America East Championship in two consecutive seasons.
