BC Transit Launches New Parkway Route

Make way for Broome County’s new public transit service line, called “The Vestal Express, route 49, that serves the eastern part of the Vestal Parkway.

County officials say that part of the travel corridor has seen a blossoming of housing and retail development over the years, directly tied to the growth of Binghamton University.

The route has become one of the busiest in the community, and it hopes the new bus route will help alleviate some of the congestion on the Parkway.

The route adds service to the Parkway Plaza, the Town Square Mall, Binghamton University, and apartment complexes at University Plaza, Plaza Drive, and Burris Road. 

In addition to an increase in support to our economy, the new addition will help us deal with the challenges created by the pandemic.
