A suspect in a violent home invasion that left a woman in the Town of Barker with permanent injuries will stand trial next month.

New York State Police arrested 26 year old Timothy Ellis of Binghamton and two others after a woman was attacked in her Walters Road home in 2010.

It wasn’t until 2015 that Ellis, 26 year old Dustin Buckley and 28 year old Shawn Bryant were arrested.  Buckley and Bryant agreed to plea deals.

Ellis is accused of trying to kill the woman who was left near death lying on the floor of her home.  She still suffers from the attack, including blindness in one eye.

Ellis is charged with two felony attempted murder counts, assault and burglary. His trial date is set for November 7.

Ellis faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted only on the attempted murder charge.

Ellis is being held in the Broome County Jail.
