August, the Artic fox has arrived at Ross Park Zoo on Morgan Road, Binghamton.

Starting this weekend, the two year old fox will be on exhibit at Ross Park. Also, the zoo will be giving away free Binghamton Zoo t-shirts to the first 700 visitors Saturday, May 4.

Artic foxes live in some of the most frigid extreme on earth. It's adapted by developing thick fur that is brown in the summer and white in the winter. Artic foxes are fairly small, about 33.6 inches long.  They eat small animals including voles, fish and eggs.

August comes to Binghamton from the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington and will be on exhibit in the middle part of Ross Park Zoo near the eagles.

The zoo is now open daily for the 2013 season.  Saturday, the gates open at 10 a.m. and the t-shirts will be handed out while supplies last.
