While many people are concentrating on trying to find one of the limited spots in line for the COVID-19 vaccination, there is still a demand for rapid testing in the region.

Broome County officials say there are still appointments available at the mobile rapid testing site that is currently set up on Binghamton’s South Side.

Some social media is sending messages to subscribers that the site at Mac Arthur Park on Vestal Avenue is open through Sunday, February 7. That is not entirely accurate.  The site is set up at the park through Friday, February 12 and will be administering rapid tests to residents with an appointment who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 weekdays from 1 to 7 p.m.

There is also a site operated by New York State at the Binghamton University campus that is also by appointment.  Information on scheduling appointments can be found at the Broome county website, www.gobroomecounty.com
