Apartment Complex Envisioned at Former Endicott Inn Site

Endicott's mayor says a multipurpose redevelopment project may be feasible on a vacant property where an rundown hotel was torn down nearly three years ago.

The old Endicott Inn at the south end of Washington Avenue had become an eyesore by the time it was demolished in early 2019.

Mayor Linda Jackson said she understood that the current owner of the site has been working with other companies on the possibility of constructing an apartment complex.

Jackson said such a project could be similar to one planned by SEPP Group of Binghamton on a smaller Washington Avenue site. That project calls for apartments, along with commercial and retail space.

Justin Marchuska, whose Vestal-based company acquired the former Endicott Inn property, on Monday said nothing specific is "in the works" for the site.

But he said "housing is in demand everywhere" and he believes an apartment project could be developed there.

Marchuska noted his company worked with Housing Visions of Syracuse to convert a former Endicott school into an apartment complex. That 61-unit complex on Jackson Avenue opened recently.
