Binghamton police have made an arrest in connection with the armed robbery of a West Side convenience store.

Authorities say the suspect is an Apalachin resident. Investigators say 44-year-old Mark Lake of Chestnut Ridge Road was tracked down on Thursday.

City police say Lake was found with assistance from the Tioga County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives say Lake is suspected of robbing the Kwik Fill Mart at 267 Main Street around 9:40 Wednesday night. The robber flashed what appeared to be the handle of a gun and demanded cash from a clerk.

Lake has been charged with first-degree robbery. He was arraigned in Binghamton city court and ordered held in Broome County Jail.
