An Apalachin man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash in Tioga County.

Authorities say 22-year-old Adam Schneider was arrested around 4 a.m. on Sunday after the incident in the Town of Owego.

Investigators say Schneider had been the driver of a vehicle that struck a tree after it drifted off Sulphur Springs Road. He was not hurt.

According to state police, Schneider's blood alcohol content was measured at 0.16 percent.

In addition to the DWI charge, Schneider was issued additional traffic tickets. He was ordered to appear in Owego town court on August 16.
