Apalachin Comfort Inn To Open Soon

A 52-room hotel is about to start operations in Apalachin.

Construction on the Comfort Inn on Route 434 started last September. It's to be operated by Everest Hotel Group, which runs the neighboring Quality Inn.

Manager Cheryl Benninger told WNBF News that the Comfort Inn features some large suite rooms with amenities that are important to business travelers.

Benninger said about 10 people have been hired to work at the new hotel. She said more hiring is possible.

Although the Comfort Inn is almost ready to open, an official date has not been announced.

The Comfort Inn and Quality Inn are just east of Route 17's Apalachin exit.
