Another Grandmother Falls for Scam
Pennsylvania State Police report another case of an elderly resident falling victim to a scam where someone, who claims to be a grandchild, gets a large amount of money.
A 90 year old Towanda woman was contacted by someone saying they were her grandson, wanting $1,500 worth of I-Tunes gift cards.
The woman gave information to the unknown person over the phone.
Authorities remind residents they should never give out personal information over the phone and if someone says they are a relative in trouble and in need of cash, their identity and location should be verified through family.
