Another Change for Downtown Binghamton Building

A commercial building in the heart of Binghamton's business district will soon have a new look.

Part of a wall of the structure at 60 Court Street has been removed to make way for display windows for a business that will be setting up operations in the next few weeks.

Muckles' Ink is going to open a retail apparel and commercial print shop in the building that had been home to a Family Dollar store.

Muckles' was founded in 2012 by Binghamton University graduates Casey Coolbaugh and Chauna D'Angelo.

The company produces apparel for Binghamton University and local businesses. It now operates out of a building on Travis Avenue on the city's North Side.

Coolbaugh says the new location at Court and State streets will have a retail store on the street level with the print shop below it.

Coolbaugh says he's excited about the planned move. The store will have big display windows along State Street which has had only a plain wall.

November 1 is the target date for the opening of the Muckles apparel shop at the downtown site.

The Court Street building was acquired early last year from an entity controlled by Mayor Richard David for $1,230,000. Two other businesses - Dos Rios Cantina and Dapper Rascal Studio - have opened in the building over the last few months.

Several apartments are located above the businesses.
