The Albany Great Danes won their 14th consecutive home game as they topped the Binghamton Bearcats 80-59 in men's basketball Monday night.  Albany took a 41-30 lead into the locker room at the half.  Binghamton cut that lead to 47-41 early in the second half but could not overtake the Great Danes  who outscored BU 39-29 in the second 20 minutes.

Albany suffered its first America East loss of the season 81-79 in Maine on Saturday.  With the win over the Bearcats the Great Danes up their conference record to 4-1 and 15-5 overall.  That keeps them hot on the heels of the Stony Brook Seawolves who have won ten straight games and are 5-0 in conference action.Tthe Great Danes and Seawolves meet on Long island Friday night at 9:00 PM.

The Bearcats had three players in double figures.  Willie Rodriguez and Marlon Beck paced the Bearcats in scoring with 12 points apiece.  Everson Davis also hit for double figures with 11 points.

Binghamton will host the Vermont Catamounts on Thursday night at the Events Center.  The game is set for a 7:00 PM start.  Airtime is 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
