The Public Campaign Financing Commission is working on a small-dollar public matching fund system for state elections.

Akshar says the proposal sets aside up to $100 million in public money to fund campaigns while the commission is also looking at a proposal to allow a candidate to appear on more than one party line.

The commission is due to vote December 1.  The legislature would have to return prior to the start of the scheduled regular session in January in order to keep the commission’s recommendation from going becoming permanent.

The Republican is looking for input at www.Akshar.NYSenate.gov.
