$150,000 Federal Aid to Pay for Endicott, Union Park Projects
A scenic overlook and trail improvements will be made in Endicott and the town of Union using money provided by a federal agency.
The Appalachian Regional Commission has allocated $150,000 for park-related improvements.
Plans call for the Chugnut Trail along the Susquehanna River to be extended and improved in two phases.
The first phase calls for the construction of a trail west of Grippen Park near the En-Joie Golf Course. The other phase will connect the trail with Round Top Picnic Area.
Riverfront improvements including a boat launch are planned as part of the project. Scenic overlooks at Grippen and Round Top parks also are to be constructed.
The work is designed to advance priorities that were identified by the Endicott Innovation District Plan and the Southern Tier Upstate Revitalization Plan.
