Woman Charged With DWI In Binghamton Crash

Three people were hurt in a two-car crash on North Shore Drive in Binghamton.

Police say one of the drivers was charged with driving while intoxicated after a red Volkswagen Beetle jumped the median and slammed into another Volkswagen.

The collision occurred just east of Washington Street around 3 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say in addition to DWI, 43-year-old Lisa Heeman, formerly of of Binghamton, was charged with crossing over lane lines and speed not reasonable and prudent.

Heeman and two other people injured in the crash were treated at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

North Shore Drive between Exchange and Washington streets was closed for hours while a crash investigation team worked at the scene.

Police said the investigation was not complete and more charges were possible.
