Emergency Services Officials in Chenango County say they do expect the northern portions of their jurisdiction could be in for a little of the fall-out from a big snow being predicted for other parts of the state. But the most of the Southern Tier, including the Greater Binghamton area should have little to shovel over the next few days.

The National Weather Service has issued lake-effect snow warnings for areas like Syracuse and Rochester, Oneida, Onondaga and Madison Counties  with up to 20 inches of snow possible in some spots.

The cold air is digging its heels in for the foreseeable future.  The National Weather Service says temperatures are expected to dip into the single digits with some areas struggling to get into the low 20s.
